Remove the background from a portrait
There is a dedicated stage for people, using a model trained on humans. For portraits it produces the cleanest edges – especially around hair, where a pure colour method fails.
For plain backgrounds (product photos, scans). No model, ready instantly.
Pick a mode, then click in the image or drag with the mouse held down. The connected area there is corrected.
Transparent cut-out: set Background → Transparent. JPEG cannot store transparency.
For web developers
Applies to chat and story templates. Without a custom choice, the template default is used.
Page settings
The images are processed entirely in this browser. Nothing is uploaded – you can verify this yourself in the network panel of your browser developer tools.

Good to know
The model is a mere 0.2 MB, the accompanying runtime about 11 MB. Both are downloaded on first use and then kept in the cache – the second time is instant.
